Chris Mosley

I was born in 1984 in upstate NY, Rochester to be exact. I was always a creative kid, I would get lost in doodling all day long in school. My art teachers always inspired confidence in me to take my art seriously and ever since I was 12 years old, I knew c reating was always going to be a part of my life. When I was 18 I started college at the Art Institute of Atlanta for Graphic Design. This is where I started to see art in a professional setting.

In 2005 I graduated with my Associates Degree in Graphic Des ign. Once I was out in the real world, I couldn’t get a good design job out of college, so I got a warehouse job to pay my bills until I figured it out. Still creating for myself and trying all different types of random jobs, 5 years went by until I landed a contract sculpting job for a company that does movie sets. This was the light that sparked the excitement back in me to take my maker ability seriously.

In 2011 I finally got the chance to work in an art community for this company that made designer boo ks for a furniture show room company. After a weird break up with this company, I left but still maintained my relationship with the art community and the artists who were a part of it. Two weeks after losing my job at the furniture show room company, I as ked to do an apprenticeship for a glassblower in the 4th Ward in Atlanta and the timing was perfect – he gave me a chance.

After that moment everything changed forever, I was hooked on glassblowing and knew this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
